FUKUDA Concept:
Generally speaking, pressure is defines as “the amount of force applied
per unit of area.” This seems to be a very small amount of force. However, when you look
at the big picture, this can represent a significant amount of power that is
very useful to people. For example, the difference in pressure generated between topside wing and underside wing of an airplane (referred to as Differential Pressure) may be
very small. But this represents enormous power when considering the total wing
span area. A jumbo jet with a wing area of 511m² is able to generate a
differential pressure of 74 g/ cm². As a result, a force of 377 tons is
generated which is sufficient to lift the jumbo jet off the ground. In other
words, a differential pressure of 74 g is enough to get a 377-ton jumbo jet
(with passengers) airborne. You can even say that an airplane is in face a
differential pressure generator. Pressure alone has limited uses. However, when applied as differential
pressure, it can become an enormous source of energy and exert many functional
services. In line with this, ships, steam engines, cars and airplanes all
function by utilizing differential pressure. Technologies
